Woyome Scandal Could Land NDC In Opposition - MTN

The ruling NDC MP for Lower Manya, Michael Teye Nyaunu, has waded into the controversial Woyome scandal again advising his party to quickly address the issue on hand or risk losing the 2012 general elections. According to Hon. Nyaunu, Ghanaians are very discerning, on top of issues and are demanding answers to the several questions that have cropped up due to the infamous Woyomegate scandal. Speaking to Citi News, Hon. Nyaunu indicated that the GhC51 million judgment debt issue if not dealt with appropriately and truthfully could send the NDC into opposition. His comments follow revelations by NPP MP for Assin North, Kennedy Agyepong, who alleged that he had in his possession bank statements that proved that hefty sums of money was doled out from Mr. Woyomes account into some other accounts including one purported to belong to the seat of government, the Osu Castle. The Assin North MP also called for the arrest of other government officials including the Chief of Staff and said the big fishes have been left free while the small fishes in the scandal are wallowing in police cells. Reacting to the allegations and in an advice to the NDC, the outspoken legislator said serious allegations have been made against the ruling party and our party is going into the gutter, we must be bold enough to pick on issue, stay with issue and defend it very well to convince Ghanaians to retain us in power. Hon. Nyaunu added: When we are playing these propaganda languages, it would not help us, it would not take us any far. He also added that the electorates are very discerning and if the NDC is not careful it will live to regret the consequences of their actions in the Woyome case.
