Woyome Sponsored Osafo Maafos Presidential Bid In 2007 Alhaji Bature

The Managing Editor of the Al-Hajj newspaper, Alhaji Iddrisu Bature, has alleged that embattled NDC financier, Alfred Agbesi Woyome sponsored one-time Minister of Finance in the erstwhile Kufuor administration, Yaw Osafo Maafos presidential bid in 2007. Alhaji Bature claims the former MP for Akim Oda openly identified the under fire NDC guru as his godfather and financier during the launch of his presidential bid. Therefore, he said, it is surprising to see the opposition NPP jumping at the throat of Mr. Woyome in the controversial judgment debt saga when they have all benefited from the man in one way or the other. Contributing to discussions on Adom FMs Dwaso Nsem programme, Alhaji Bature chastised the NPP for making a field-day out of the EOCO report which accused Alfred Woyome of perpetuating fraud, saying the NPP lacks the moral right to pass judgment on him (Woyome). According to him, there is a long list of NPP gurus who benefited from Mr. Woyome years ago, and described them as traitors for turning their back on him and calling him (Woyome) a criminal. He said though Kennedy Agyapong, the NPP MP for Assin-North has been parading a list of people from the camp of the NDC Woyome allegedly greased their palms, there is more NPP members who are also beneficiaries. According to him, some musicians, churches and journalists among others, have all benefited from Woyomes munificence. Alhaji Bature also alleged that the NPP MP for Aburi/Nsawam, O.B. Amoah, who according to him (Bature) leaked the details of the controversial Woyome judgment debt, was also sponsored by Woyome to win his parliamentary seat. Ask O.B. Amoah how much money was given to him by Woyome when he was contesting the Aburi/Nsawam parliamentary seat? he said. He also accused ex-President Kufuor of being a beneficiary of Woyomes benevolence prior to him being paid the whooping judgment debt saying, Kufuor should be asked about the $500,000 that he made us pay to Abankwa at Prudential Bank. The Al-Hajj newspaper editor further slammed the General Secretary of the NPP, Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie, and sarcastically said Sir John should be asked the kind of job he did for Woyome to warrant the Rav4 vehicle he is cruising in.
