NDC Is Desperately Trying To Drag NPP Into Their Mess Sir John

General Secretary of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie, is accusing the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) of desperately trying to draw the NPP into the quagmire of shame they find themselves in. According to him, the NDC is now in the business of equalization judging by their desperate attempts to draw the NPP in its mess with their illogical comparisons. Sir John, as the NPP General Secretary is affectionately called, was reacting to comments by a deputy Minister of Information, James Agyenim Boateng that President Mills should be lauded for his commitment in getting to the bottom of the Woyome judgment debt saga. The Deputy Minister insists President Mills has proven to be a better fighter against corruption than his predecessor, ex-President Kufuor. But Sir John, speaking in an interview on OkayFM, pooh-poohed the remark saying the NDC was trying to shift the focus of Ghanaians attention from the state of depravation they have plunged the country into. Quite emphatically, he said, this broad day light robbery would never have happened under Kufuor so it is bizarre to see the NDC trying to drag the NPP in by making all sort of baseless allegations. the NDC is doing everything possible to extricate President Mills from the controversial Woyome saga but that will not wash...President Mills was fully aware of everything right from the genesis of the Woyome saga and cannot be excluded from the marginal corruption in his government, he stated. The NPP Chief Scribe further posited that though the corruption index report clearly shows that President Mills led administration is the most corrupt in the annals of the countrys political history, he is not in the least surprised since the current President defines corruption as indiscretion. To him, in as much as the Woyome debt scandal is far from over, the Interim Report submitted by the Economic and Organised Crimes Office (EOCO) should not be used as a means of roping in former appointees of the Kufuor administration President Mills is using EOCO report to cover himself and create the impression that he is fighting corruption; meanwhile he is deeply rooted in corruption, he added.
