Goran Stevanovic: Ghanaians Not Satisfied But Happy With Our Style Of Play

Ghana coach Goran Stevanovic has admitted local fans are sad with the fourth place finish at the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon). However, the Serbian said he is certain Ghanaians are happy with his charges commitment on the field. The people might not be satisfied with the fourth position but I am sure that they will be satisfied with the way we played, we dominated, Stevanovic told the press. We could not reach the final and win it and that was the difference. Ghana were beaten 2-0 by Mali in the third and fourth place play-off. The Black Stars were touted as pre-tournament favourites, but failed to live up to the billing that could have resulted in their fifth continental trophy. Despite the disappointment, Stevanovic believes the players deserve plaudits so that they can push towards the title at the upcoming 2013 Afcon. "My players gave everything and we have to be proud of their determination, he concluded.
