Campaign Team of John Tia refutes allegations

The Campaign Team of Mr John Tia Akologo , Member of Parliament (MP) for Talensi Constituency has refuted allegations by a group calling itself the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Youth, to the effect that the MP has not done much for the area. It would be recalled that a group calling itself NDC Youth last week organised a Press Conference in the Constituency saying they would prefer voting for the New Patriotic Party Parliamentary Candidate and not Mr JohnTia Akolgo but would vote for President Mills in the presidential poll. In a counter- Press Statement issued at a Press Conference and signed by Alhaji Seidu Musah, Manager of Mr Tias Campaign Team, debunked the accusation levelled against the MP. According to the Campaign Manager, Mr Tia Akolgo, since his assumption of office as MP, had brought about unprecedented development projects to the constituency and that explained why he was continuously being endorsed by the constituency as Member of Parliament for the area. He said under the MP, schools under trees in the constituency had reduced drastically and that the MP had also sponsored students up to tertiary institutions. A Vocational School has been built by the MP at Dusi, and all equipment for the five programmes namely ICT, Building and Construction, Carpentry and Joinery, Hair dressing and Fashion and Design have all been procured. On agriculture, Alhaji Musah said the MP had provided farming inputs and tractor services for the farmers in the Constituency . It must be stated that the resounding victory of honourable John Akologo Tia at the Primaries could neither have been doctored nor won at the pretext of vote buying. Such allegations smack of a deliberate attempt to temper with the integrity of the esteemed delegates who appreciate the good works of their MP and the belief that his retention will better serve the interest of the people of Talensi and not an individual's interest. Alhaji Musah appealed to the rank and file of the Party to come together and fight a common battle to enable the Party to retain the seat.
