Your Work Is Poor Tony Aidoo

The Head of Policy Evaluation and Monitoring-unit at the Presidency, Dr. Tony Aidoo has furiously attributed the current disenchantment for the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) party to the abysmal performance of the partys D.C.Es countrywide, describing some of them as woeful. Dr. Tony Aidoo said this poor showing on the part of these D.C.Es has allowed other opposition political parties to subject the NDC to ridicule and public chastisement. Dr. Aidoo unequivocally conveyed the displeasure of the President about their performance with all the strong words he could muster at the evaluation conference held to scrutinize the activities of all metropolitan, municipal and district assemblies from the northern sector of the country at the Prempeh Assembly hall in Kumasi. He got so incensed at the low-performing MMDAs that he asked the abysmal performing DCEs from these respective districts to stand on their feet amidst the outpour of castigation on them. Amongst the vilified MMDAs were the Sisala-East, Wa-West, KMA Bawku, Talensi, Zabzugu Nadowli, Asunafo-North, Bekwai Municipal Assembly and other 32 District Chief Executives within the Northern sector of the country. Dr. Aidoo told the beleaguered district and municipal chief executives plainly in the face that the president is not happy with you at all and your performances is appalling to him, confirming to them that at the recent retreat at Dodowa most of you would have been shown the red-card but were only saved by the counsel that you would be given the last chance to buck up, he said. This confession from Dr. Aidoo however did not deter him from naming and shaming the low performing DCEs as he publicly called out their names to rebuke them, amidst taunts from the audience gathered at the conference. Though the policy analyst gave the chance to the concerned DCEs to explain themselves, he seemed worked up by the flimsy excuses they adduced for their inability to furnish his outfit with periodic reports on projects to be undertaken or others they have embarked on for evaluation. The timely intervention by the Upper-East regional minister, Mark Owen Woyongo apologized on behalf of the awestricken low-performing DCEs and this seemed to have calmed the Policy analyst down. Though Dr. Aidoo reluctantly accepted the apology warned that failure to henceforth furnish his outfit with periodic reports on their operations within their assemblies, would attract punitive sanctions.
