Founder and leader of the defunct United Renaissance Party (URP), "Chuck" Kofi Wayo has alleged that former President John Agyekum Kufuor literary went on his knees before President John Evans Atta Mills to let go of investigations into the Woyome judgment debt saga.
According to him, former President Kufuor, fully aware of his complicity in the entire saga and rightly embarrassed, beseeched President Mills not to bring his (Kufuor's) name up in the saga regarding investigations into the matter.
Speaking in an interview on Peace FM during the Midday bulletin, the maverick politician also described President Mills as being too tolerant and religious, pointing out that �politics is not a Jesus Christ business, Jesus Christ business is a whole different ball-game.�
�The information I have is that former President Kufour went to President Mills, asking him to cover up this case because he is directly involved in it but Atta Mills said no; let the chips fall where they may. if this is true, if this allegation is true, right, everybody connected with the case, should be brought to the police to be questioned...," Kofi Wayo said.
