The coach insisted that his team is not a rough side despite having four players sent off in the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations. He said there was high level of discipline in camp and was highly impressed with the conduct of the players. His usual defensive duo - captain John Mensah and Isaac Vorsah as well as newcomer John Boye and also midfielder Derek Boateng were all sent off during the tournament. The GFA President Kwesi Nyantakyi also hinted that the failure of the national team to win the trophy was due to some negative attitudes put up by most of the senior players in the team. He said most players played for self glory rather than fight for the success of the whole team.
