A Deputy Minister of Information, James Agyenim Boateng has lashed out at the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) for what he said is their continuous beating of war drums ahead of the December general elections. According to James, the Utterances of NPP apparatchiks at their rally on Saturday at Mantse Agbonaa in James Town over the weekend demonstrates that the party has no clear sense of direction. �The NPP should offer us alternatives; [but] we don�t hear anything from them apart from the violence that they preach,� he stressed. Leading members of the NPP at a charged mammoth rally to climax their flagbearer�s national listening tour took a swipe at the leadership style of President John Evans Atta Mills which according to them has retarded Ghana�s progress. The largest opposition party believes the NDC has no solutions to the many problems facing Ghanaians hence they should be voted out and the NPP giving the chance to redeem them from their misery. Amongst the speakers was the Assin North Member of Parliament Kennedy Agyapong who said the infamous Woyomegate scandal and other criminal acts has exposed the hypocrisy and double standards of President Mills. The Woyomegate crusader did not mince words when he said President Mills would be jailed if such huge judgement debt is paid under his watch again. On the upcoming December elections, Kennedy Agyapong although promised a violence free elections, charged the enthusiastic crowd to fulfill the �all-die-be-die� mantra espoused by Nana Akufo-Addo and match the NDC boot-for-boot when they are attacked. But on Asempa FM on Monday, James Agyenim Boateng said the conduct of the NPP is shameful, disappointing and unfortunate of a party yearning to steer the affairs of the country. According to him, the NPP should have used the opportunity to provide policy alternatives to Ghanaians on what they intend to do when voted into power instead of the comedies and needless insults they hurled at the Mills-led administration. Agyenim Boateng noted that the NPP cannot be trusted with the leadership of Ghana. He therefore called on the electorate to reject the NPP which he said are only interested in enriching themselves to the detriment of Ghanaians. The Deputy Information Minister welcomed call by Nana Addo for a character based campaign, adding that �we are confident about our candidate Mills; we trust in his integrity; we know that he is honest, trustworthy, he keeps his word and a very forthright person�. Agyennim Boateng said the conduct of the NPP in recent times are all signs of desperation and frustration of an impending defeat in December.
