Starlets For England

An opportunity has presented itself to Ghana�s U-17 soccer side the Black Starlets to play the U-20 side of English Championship side Watford FC at the Watford Stadium, UK, in mid March. The initiative, arranged by Divine Sports Management Limited, a FIFA agency, is to offer both teams, especially the Ghanaians, a platform where high profile scouts from England and other parts of the world would be present to witness the friendly. Indications are that plans are far advanced for the game, and Charlie Barffuor, a FIFA agent and the CEO of Divine Sports Management has officially written to the GFA in that regard. He said in an interview that: �I am in talks with the assistant coach of the Starlets Isaac Opeele Boateng, and he is very enthused about the initiative. �It will certainly give the players the needed exposure as they strive to reach the top in their careers,� Barffuor added. The Starlets, two-time World Champions (1991 and 1995), have struggled to make an impact for so long a time now, and the organizers believe the program will place them in a better position to restore the lost fortunes. At the moment, the Ghana Football Association is holding discussions over the project
