PPP Will Win 2012 Election

The Progressive Peoples Party (PPP) on Thursday said it was ready to win Election 2012 and govern Ghana in a manner that would ensure rapid development. On Saturday, February 25, we will give Ghanaians the wake-up call and tell them that our country faces a fundamental choice of moving forward or falling further behind and settling for mediocrity, depending on how they vote in this years general elections, said William Dowokpor, aspiring PPP Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency in the Greater Accra Region. Speaking in an interview with the Ghana News Agency in Accra ahead of the partys maiden national convention slated for the VIP wing of the Accra Sports Stadium, Mr Dowokpor said the event would provide the party with the opportunity to showcase its true character as a national party. He said about 3,500 delegates are expected to attend the event, where the party would be formally launched, and its political direction unveiled. Mr Dowokpor said the emergence of PPP on the political scene is a fortunate development in Ghanaian politics as majority of the citizens who are tired of the old order of governance would have the opportunity to elect the alternative that will bring freshness to Ghanaian politics without disturbing the constitutionality of the Fourth Republican dispensation. We will give every Ghanaian who has something to contribute to the rapid advancement of our country the opportunity to do so and we will demonstrate that when we welcome our brothers and sisters from all over the country with open arms, as well as introduce the youth who have just turned 18 and who will be voting for the first time, to the alternative party that will guarantee them a great future, he said. Mr Dowokpor, said the PPP Will light a perpetual flame of democracy and good governance and this will enable it claim political power to stop the decay in governance and restore hope and confidence to the people of Ghana. We are offering Ghanaians a new hope, through capable stewardship that will break the back of poverty and prevent it from recurring in our land and Saturday, February 25, marks the beginning of a journey that will lead to good stewardship, which would be seen in the implementation of progressive policies like free compulsory continuous education up to senior high school level for all Ghanaian children, as well as quality health care for all, he added.
