Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom, founder and leader of the Progressive Peoples Party (PPP), on Saturday gave the assurance that the party would present a credible, united and well-organized election machine. He said the PPP would present a clear and specific platform for change so that Ghanaians �can feel this in their lives and pockets within four years.� Dr Ndoum was addressing delegates at the PPP first national convention, in Accra. He said the PPP has a tall order before it, and that the country�s burning, bright red sun was throwing light on problems of the Ghana, reminding the people that they should work with sense of urgency to solve the problems. Dr Ndoum said the red sun, symbol of the PPP, was shining on homelessness, poverty, diseases, lack of water and unstable power supply, poor education, road accidents and unemployment and corruption. He said all progressive people should respond to this call to bring incorruptible leadership into Government to make Ghana great and strong. Dr Ndoum said the party could not sweep the country�s problems under the carpet, and added: � we intend to work with a sense of urgency to liberate our people from these difficulties that are visible to all Ghanaians He said the PPP was guided by an agenda for change to reinvent Ghana, and stressed that the party would succeed because it has aimed at reinventing the attitudes of Ghanaians. Dr Ndoum said the PPP was pleased to present a political platform for Election 2012, an agenda which was simple and yet powerful. He said: �we are not going to produce a huge book of promises and call it a manifesto. Ghana already has the directive principles of state policies in our constitution.� Dr Ndoum said the PPP needed an opportunity to implement an agenda for change that would be built on stewardship, education, healthcare and jobs. He said: �we will implement the agenda using the spirit of inclusiveness that will enable us use the best Ghanaians to ensure the full participation of women and the youth in governance, and produce a leadership that is incorruptible. �By dealing with corruption, we can double government revenue, which will be used to pay for our transformational initiatives in education, healthcare and job creation.� Dr Ndoum said the party would create a just and discipline society with the passion for excellence within ten years, and promote science and technology as the cornerstone of development so that Ghana would become a high middle income country. He said these would include the modernization of agriculture, and providing market for produce to sustain farmers and fishermen. Dr Ndoum said the PPP would reform state institutions, make government efficient and raise more revenue to pay public servants well, to motivate them to work harder towards national development. He said: �No political party has a single vote in its pocket for the Election 2012, we all have zero, zero, zero- no vote. When the Electoral Commission opens the biometric voters� register on March 24th, we will encourage, educate and work with our people and supporters to go and register to vote. Our one million people are eligible to vote for the first time since the 2008 election.� Dr Ndoum called on Ghanaians to join the PPP and asked its members to engage in good electioneering, to win many votes for the party.
