Commend Govt for numerous development projects -DCE

The District Chief Executive for Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa, (AOB), Mrs Georgina Nkrumah Aboah, has said government must be commended for the numerous development projects it has undertaken throughout the country within it three years in office. She mentioned some of projects as road construction, increase in the capitation grant, provision of free exercise books and uniforms to pupils, expansion of electricity to communities and school buildings. Mrs Aboah said this at the inauguration of a six-unit classroom block, including an office, store and sanitary facilities for Asarekwiaa Al-Furan Islamic School at the cost GHC150,000. It was financed by the GETFUND and constructed by Ramball Construction Company Limited. She said the Government was doing its best to promote education and urged others stakeholders to supplement its efforts. The DCE urged the management of the school to cultivate the culture of maintenance to prolong the life span of the facility. She advised parents to use their resources to support their children�s education instead of using them on unnecessary things. Mrs Nkrumah Aboah urged the people to register when the Biometric Registration commences next month to enable them to retain the NDC in power. Mr Joseph Opoku Agbo, Deputy District Director of Education, expressed appreciation to the Assembly for the construction of the school and the general improvement of educational infrastructure in the District. Mr Justice Mensah, head teacher of the School, thanked the Assembly for the project and appealed for teachers� quarters to end the accommodation problems of the teachers . Mr Sam Joseph, Assembly man for the area, appealed to the District Education Directorate to provide furniture for the school. The Chief of the town, Nana Yaayah, who chaired the programme, expressed his appreciation to the Government for the provision of the school building.
