Election 2012: Macho Men Vow To Protect Ballot Boxes

An association called Macho Men for Good and Justice in Kumasi has pledged its support to help preserve the nations peace before, during and after the December general elections. The group invites all macho men (heavily built persons) nationwide to join hands with the security operatives to maintain law and order in their respective localities as the political campaigns heat up. Samuel Emmanuel Agyei Mantey, the spokesperson for the macho men told Citi News they were fed up of being labeled as hooligans during elections. He said the groups major priority is to diffuse the widespread perception that macho men have habitually been appointed by politicians to cause brutalities during elections. Actually, there are several reasons why we formed this association, but what motivated us more importantly is that we want to avoid any chaos or conflict during the 2012 elections, Mantey explained. He said: Some politicians have been taking undue advantage of we macho men to cause trouble and we want to demonstrate that our energies can be directed towards a good course in 2012.
