National Service Allowance Go Up By 20%

The Director of the National Service Secretariat, Mr. Vincent Kuagbenu has given indications that government has increased the allowances of service personnel by 20 percent. He was responding to the Jomoro district service personnel claim that government had reneged on its promise of a 20 percent increment of their allowances. Mr Kuagbenu told Citi News the 20 percent increment is expected to mature in two months largely due to procedural arrangements by the finance ministry. He said it has been communicated through the National president of Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), district and regional executives that the government has increase the salary by 20 percent. He however added that the process might take about a month or two.
