Melcom, Ghana�s largest retail chain store, has opened a new branch at Teshie Nungua, Accra, adjacent the Total Filling Station to serve people in the community. The Teshie Nungua branch, which is Melcom�s sixth store in the Greater Accra region, will cater for the household needs of the people of Teshie Nungua, as it sells various categories of products ranging from appliances, household and Kitchen wears, gift items, luggage, furniture and electronics. Frank Owusu, Branch Manager of Teshie Melcom, said the establishment of the new branch in the community will reduce the stress customers go through to travel to Accra or Tema to buy products at Melcom. �Customers will not have to travel all the way to Accra or Tema to shop because prices of the products are the same,� he said. He said the branch has dedicated and professional sales assistants, who are ready to assist customers, stressing that Melcom is committed to satisfying the needs of its customers. Arvinder Singh, Chief Operating Manager, said the decision to open another branch at Teshie Nungua formed part of the company�s contributions towards the development of Ghana. He said the company intends to become a one-stop shopping destination for all customers across the nation. �We are confident of our offerings both in quality and competitive pricing,� he said. Mr. Singh said Teshie Melcom will continue to bring convenience plus rich shopping experience to the people. �We ensure that all our Melcom stores fulfill the needs of the entire household under one roof,� Singh said. Ashok Nair, Head of Retail Operations at Melcom, explaining the rationale behind the new �Buy More Get More� promotion by Melcom, said it is a way of rewarding customers. He said customers will get free shopping coupons on purchase above GH�150, adding that the customer can get anywhere from GH�10 to GH�10,000 coupons redeemable on his next purchase based on the purchases he or she makes. �If you buy products worth GH�150 you get GH�10 coupon, if you buy between GH�250 and GH�349 you get GH�20 coupon and it goes on and on so the more you but the more you get,� Nair said. He noted that Melcom has reduced prices of over 2000 products across various categories by up to 50 per cent.
