Ghana midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah has expressed optimism that the Black Stars will defeat Zambia and Sudan in the second round of the qualifying for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. The Udinese playmaker said the 2010 World Cup quarter-finalists can live up to the challenge to pave the way for their third global appearance by racing ahead of Zambia, Sudan, and Lesotho in Group D. �We have quality and capable players on our side and I believe our qualification will be very smooth and without any hiccups,� Asamoah was quoted in a report on the Ghana FA website. �Though I have a lot of respect for our group opponent, we have what it takes and the pedigree to qualify.� Ghana are currently undergoing restructuring following a poor outing at the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) resulting in a fourth-place finish. They were beaten 1-0 by eventual winners Zambia in the semi-finals. However, the 23-year-old believes the Copper Bullets cannot claim superiority over them in the qualifying games despite their loss at the Afcon. "Our best game in the tournament [Nations Cup] was against Zambia but unfortunately that is the one we lost," he said. "It was a sad moment but football is full of uncertainties. Losing to them in the semi-finals is not a yardstick for them to be favoured ahead of Ghana. "We are still a force to reckon with and nothing has changed in the team. We will go all out for revenge," Asamoah added.
