A commercial taxi heading to Kwame Nkrumah circle from Tesano this morning, burst into flames and has burnt completely beyond recognition.
The taxi was reportedly in traffic opposite the Boomerang Night Club at Caprice in Accra when it started to overheat.
The driver of the taxi who had on board two female passengers got down from the vehicle to check the problem but the car burst into flames when he opened the bonnet.
Attempts by the Fire Service to quench the fire proved futile. No casualties were recorded though.
The driver of the taxi, is currently assisting the police with investigations in to the matter.
