POLICE RESHUFFLE: Bio Atinga, Timbillah, Gyening...Trade Places!

The Ghana Police Service has announced some massive changes of its personnel peacefmonline.com can confirm. In all, 10 serving high-ranking officers have traded places. Sources say the Greater Accra Regional Commander, COP Rose Atinga Bio has been re-posted to the headquarters as Director General of Police Administration. The Acting Public Relations Officer at the Public Affairs Directorate of the Ghana Police Service, DSP Cephas Arthur who confirmed this to peacefmonline a short while ago, also revealed that DCOP Patrick Timbilla, Ashanti Regional Commander will now head the Greater Accra Regional Command whilst DCOP Augustine Gyening, Tema Regional Commander has also been re-posted to the Ashanti Region. DCOP Maxwell Sikapasco Atingane moves from the Police Headquarters to Tema as the new Regional Commander. Other officers affected by the re-shuffle include DCOP Mina Ayim, Director of Community Policing, who has been moved to the Police Headquarters as Director-General Welfare; DCOP David Nenyin Ampah Bening, Director General in-charge of Welfare moves to head the Technical Division. Meanwhile, ASP Paul Manly Awini, the Dansoman Divisional Commander moves to the Police Headquarters as Deputy Operational Commander whiles ACP Fred Agyapong Asare, Tarkwa Divisional Commander now becomes the Deputy Western Regional Commander. DCOP Osabarima Oware Pinkro II (Chief of Akyem Apinamang) is now Director in-charge of Police Service Workshop. Chief Superintendent Mohammed Fuseini Suraji, second in command (Dep-Dir) of Community Policing now becomes Director of Community Policing. With the exception of the changes involving DCOP Ayim, DCOP Ampa-Bennin and Chief Supt. Suraji, whose changes take effect from April 1, 2012, the rest takes effect from Monday, March 12, 2012.
