My mum once told me this and I quote "when you go to a funeral and you find the widow crying, it's not only because of her husband's death but the struggle in having to raise funds to feed the large crowd that troop in to wish her well. Some stay for days and expect the widow to feed them breakfast, lunch and supper. She also cries more because she will eventually be left alone with her children to fend for themselves."
Barbara, the wife of Major Mahama is a young woman. I see her as my younger sibling and I feel her pain. This could have happened to any woman whose husband is in the security services. Her husband and no other person deserves to die that way.
It's good the President has announced a package for the family. We all know the legal issues and bureaucracies surrounding Trust Funds. At least 300,000 out of the 500,000 seed money should be directly paid into Barbara's account for her to invest. A good mother like her will surely take good care of her children.
The government should immediately take steps to fund the education of Major Mahama's children to the tertiary level. It shouldn't be the type of scholarship that gives students headache.
Barbara will have to vacate the military bungalow at a point in time. What happens to her and her children? I plead with the President to personally see to it that she and her children are given decent and lifetime accommodation at a safe place. A place where she and her children will not sleep with their eyes half closed.
I pray the government takes immediate steps to find Barbara and her children a psychologist to take them through counselling.
I pray God heals her pain. I pray God gives her the strength to pull herself together for the sake of the children.
May Major Mahama and all fallen heroes find eternal rest in God's bosom. He will get justice.

well written, tenkew for these recommendations n i prae akufo addo does dat immediately with no delay.
I couldn't agree with you more. May the Lord heal her pain and grant her the courage to forge ahead.
Aku well said. I agree with u.
Well written and in full support. The welfare of Barbara and the kids are very important. I also applaud the accommodation and psychologist idea.they really need it. Government should just buy an affordable house for them to avoid this issue of being after administration bureaucracies for rent allowance. God should really strengthen and see her through this very difficult moment.I don't wish to be in her shoes at all......... God have mercy on Ghana
Well said... However, what happens to the family of all the victims who have been lynched mistakenly? The lynching of Captain Mahama should be used as a platform to tackle all cases of lynching in the country Every life matters
I beg no!!!! Dont spoil your write up
YOU HAVE SPOKEN WELL. WHERE THEY WILL SLEEP IS VERY IMPORTANT. THE MILITARY WILL NEED THEIR HOUSE FOR SOMEONE ELSE AND THEY WILL WRITE TO HER TO VACATE AT SOME POINT. IF THE MAJOR HAS NO HOUSE OF HIS OWN I THINK THE REAL ESTATE COMPANIES CAN BE OF HELP. THEY CAN GIVE BABARA A FLEXIBLE PAYMENT TERMS TO ACCOMADATE BABARA AND THE KIDS. I WISH I HAVE THE FUNDS I WOULD HAVE GOTTEN THEM A THREE BEDROOM HOUSE AND I KNOW MAJOR MAHAMA WILL SMILE AT WHERE EVER HE IS.
