Ghana Road Transport Coordinating Council (GRTCC) in collaboration with Guinness Ghana, National Road safety Commission (NRSC) and other stakeholders is embarking on educational campaign aimed at passenger empowerment and avoiding alcohol abuse.
An Easter Message issued by Mr Ben Peprah-Amoabeng, National Chairman of GRTCC in Accra on Thursday said the efforts were to stop road crashes during and after the Easter celebration.
"We are urging our valued drivers to be cautious on our roads during this season," it added.
The statement said: "As people, we have to celebrate the season with care, especially drivers who will convey passengers to and from their various destinations.
"Unfortunately, Easter in many cases has been associated with the accidents and carnage on our roads where people as a sign of their joy would want to drink and drive and as a result, involve in crashes."
