The Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) has rescheduled its planned shutdown of the Kpong Water treatment plant.
Management of Ghana Water Company Limited wishes to inform members of the general public that the shut-down of the Kpong Treatment Plant for major pipeline interconnection works which was to start on Monday, 24th February 2014, has been rescheduled, a statement from the Ghana water company said.
The postponement follows an order from the Ministry of Water Resources, Works and Housing as well as the Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC) to that effect.
GWCL said in the statement that the shut-down will now be from Thursday, 27th February to Sunday, 2nd March 2014.
It said: The postponement is to allow water supply in Accra Metropolitan area to stabilise following the resumption of water production at [the] Weija Treatment Plant on Saturday, 22nd February, 2014.
GWCL also advised the public to take note of the new date and store water for the period.
