The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has called for support for the private sector to thrive in view of the critical role it plays in national development.
The Asantehene made the call when a seven-member delegation from Modern Automobile Services Limited (MAS) called on him at the Manhyia Palace to officially announce the inauguration of the refurbished MAS showroom in Kumasi and launch of the new range of Tata vehicles in the Ashanti Region.
He said the private sector contributed a lot to nation building and offered to support MAS for a successful business operation in Kumasi, which he described as a viable commercial business centre.
The leader of the MAS delegation, Nana Kwame Boakye, said the MAS facility would not only be used as a sales point for the company but also the company would assist all those desirous of learning about modern automobile technology. He added that discussions with the Otumfuo Education Foundation for the start of the programme had already started.
Nana Boakye said the company believed in education as the key to the development of every nation, hence its decision to focus on skills training for the youth and operational support for the foundation.
