Nigeria has put up two of its 10 presidential jets for sale as a part of a campaign to cut down on "waste", a spokesman for President Muhammadu Buhari has said.
Newspaper advertisements for the sale of a Falcon 7X executive jet and a Hawker 4000 had been authorised by the presidency, Garba Shehu said in a statement.
He added that the move to cut down the presidential fleet was "by no means complete".
Some of the other presidential aircraft would be handed to the Nigerian Air Force to boost its operations, Mr Shehu said.

No Buhari is crying, they think governance is like eating sandwich, when they're in opposition they talk big and think they have what it take to turn around the economy within seven days.but when reality dawn on them they begin to congratulate their predecessors for they good work done. This should be a lesson to Ghanaians, you can see how Buhari is making Nigerians suffer, this is what is going to happen to Ghana if you bring Nana Addo to power.Talk is cheap, anybody can talk but to do the work need a different spirit. First npp was using Buhari victory as a yardstick to campaign for change of government, but now they can't say that again, because Buhari is not performing. Am a floating voter and looking at our political terrain it is good to maintain a sitting government to continual his work than to change for a new leader. We must change our when that person(president)term of government has expired for a fresh candidate from the opposition party to take over else we will see a setback. Therefore,i will beg all Ghanaians to give Pres. Mahama a second chance to continual his work and probable we call npp to power 2021 so that we can see mother Ghana.Ghana don't make a mistake.
What inform the change? I thought president Mahama said he would not pay the nurses allowance? He is simply desperate for power after our currency has depreciated so badly due to corruption among others. Vote for change. Long life Ghana
SELL 8 OUT OF 10. NIGERIA NEEDS ONLY TWO JETS. PRESIDENT AND VICE ONLY. PREZ. BUHARI PLEASE THINK OUT THIS.
u selling 2 out of ten are u kidding me ,very funny
If at this stage EC has credibility problem, then why should it be paid with taxpayers money? The news about EC's credibility is known across the globe. The sad thing is that, that commission has no shame! Folks you know there is no corrupt EC in developed countries. It only exists in 3rd world countries like Ghana.
10 PRESIDENTIAL JETS FOR 1 PRESIDENT? WHAT AN NPP TYPE PROFLIGACY!
KK U'RE A WISE MAN.....MAY LIVE LONG
Why should there be ten presidential jets for one Nigeria? incredible! selling just two is not enough to say someone is cutting down costs when he still has eight at his disposal. Stop this your npp, ndc and lets think about the unnecessary expenditure of African leaders to the detriment of their people.
Talk is cheap, nana addo will NOT n can NEVER BE president.....Mark my words, Dec. 7th is just around the corner. JM will retire nana tin god from active politics, be there n keep dreaming. What has Buhari's decision got to do with our President?
Our use11.ess president John Mahama has not got the balls to take such pragmatic decisions. He is into create, loot and share shemes such as SADA etc. Ghanaians must show this ***barred word*** the exit.... Why restore teachers allowance at this time? Panic decision by a confused president.
