Traditional authorities at Kintampo in the Brong Ahafo region has slaughtered a ram to pacify the gods in the town following a disaster at waterfalls in the area.
At least 17 people died after a huge tree fell on revelers at the Kintampo Waterfalls in the Brong Ahafo Region Sunday, March 19, 2016.
Scores of others have been left injured in the accident which occurred between 4:30 pm and 5:30 pm.
The victims, largely students of the Wenchi Methodist Senior High School, were on an excursion and swimming in the water when the tumbling tree crushed them to death.
Whiles some those who sustained injuries have been discharged, some of those who died have been laid to rest after government gave the families GH¢10,000 and GH¢20,000 respectively.
However, because the trees and stones which surrender the waterfalls are all deities, the traditional authorities in the area underscored the need for the sacrifice.
They believe it is a way of showing respect to the gods and also to pacify them to avert any future catastrophe.

Spiritual issues must not be compared with civilization and it's not a thing of a joke. "Lack of knowledge my people perish". God is Supreme and Supreme everlastingly, nothing can take His place, however give unto caeser what belongs to caeser
I hate people like ghana rehabs Who in Ghana worshipps God apart from praying for fortune? @ ghana rehabs , you're a be.a.st. Wo ho kan.kan.
If human ritual is made and fail to send well trained personals there it will be in vain. Ghana this is time to be vigilant. because we have only one GHANA.
africans are indeed backwards and primitive. We rush to church and pray for miracles, and we are still occultic and supersititious. Whiles others are advancing in science and technology to understand nature and avert disasters, we are doing primitive things because of our busssssh nature.
