Kenya’s opposition coalition, National Super Alliance’s People’s Assembly, NASA has laid out plans for Tuesday’s planned inauguration of Raila Odinga as ‘‘the people’s president’.’
The venue of the planned meeting that the government has already warned against is however still being kept a secret.
“We are not turning back. Actually, Nasa’s vehicle has no reverse gear and from tomorrow, it will not have brakes,” Oduor Ong’wen, a member of the National Super Alliance’s People’s Assembly Organising Committee.
Shortly after the swearing-in ceremony of president-elect Uhuru Kenyatta, Kenya’s main opposition leader Raila Odinga announced that he too would be sworn in on December 12.
The country’s attorney general has since warned that such an action would be an illegality attracting charges of treason.
The United States has also called on Raila Odinga to call off the planned inauguration ceremony arguing that it would only serve to further polarise the country.
These proclamations have however failed to dissuade the opposition coalition who are planning an event that will be celebrated like a typical national event.
According to the NASA officials, the programme will start with the national anthem, followed by prayers, then announcement and adoption of the agenda.
There will then be a ceremony to install “the people’s leader”, after which speeches shall be conducted.
A ‘people’s assembly’ shall also be installed followed by speeches from representatives of counties.
Raila Odinga and other NASA leaders are expected to head out after the event and hold rallies across the country.

He must be arrested together with all his people and charge with treason. This is not good for Kenya. They have to learn from Ghana and Nigera
Which international criminal court? Did they say they were going to swear in a President? They said they were going to swear in “People’s Leader”. These people know what they are talking about.
Raila Odinga should be arrested by the International Criminal Court in order to stop his tantrums and psychopathic attitude. He challenged and won the first presidential results and was Ordered by the Supreme Court and refused to compky with the Order. Presudent Uhuru Kenyatta took him to Court seeking an Order to compel him to comply with the Order of the Supreme Court but the Court ruled in Hus favour allowing him to boycott the elections. The IEBC carried out the elections and declared President Uhuru Kenyatta the winner. Raila Idinga through the backdoor, surreptitiously challenged the result in Court which he lost. Declaring himself as president of Kenya after all these tantrums is tantamount to treason, because his intention is to cause a genocide and must be stopped before it is too late.
