Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia is in the United Kingdom (UK) for 'medical leave'
A statement signed by Chief of Staff, Frema Osei-Opare indicated that the Vice President left the country on Friday, 19th January, 2018, “on the advice of his doctors”.
He was accompanied by the second lady, Samira Bawumia.
Background
Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia was taken ill on Friday.
According to a statement from the presidency and signed by Eugene Arhin, Director of Communications, the Vice President "in the early hours of Friday, 19th January, 2018, reported feeling unwell".
He was later discharged after undergoing medical tests and observation.
