Former Attorney General Marietta Brew Appiah-Oppong says there is grounds for prosecution of the officials who were captured in the investigative piece on Ghana football by journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas.
The comment comes as several high profile officials of the Ghana FA including the President of the Association were seen taking bribes from Anas’ men to compromise their decisions on the game and other interests.
The Football Association meanwhile says though it is yet to watch the video, it will not shield any official captured in the investigative piece.
“The GFA wishes to place on record that, there will be no attempt of a cover-up or shield any of our members caught in the alleged acts of corruption. The GFA wishes to assure all that as an institution it does not condone any manner of corrupt practices.
Their statement also said “Though the GFA did not commission Tiger Eye PI to undertake this exercise and have not been provided with the opportunity of watching the documentary, we view the allegations circulating in the media very seriously and would wish to take immediate steps to address them,” the FA said in a statement.
Speaking to Francis Abban on the Morning Starr Thursday, Marietta Brew called on the investigative bodies of the country to demand further details of Anas's work and take actions.

NOW EVERYBODY IS TALKING ABOUT NANTAKYI AND GFA AS IF THEY ARE THE ONLY DEMONS IN GHANA. YES, THE LAW MUST WORK AND IF THEY DESERVE TO BE PUNISH FAIR ENOUGH. BUT WE MUST NOT FORGET OR GROSS OVER THE DOUBLE SALARY OF THE MPS. NYANTAKYI AND GFA SCANDAL SHOULD NOT OVERRIDE OTHER CORRUPT CASES IN GHANA.
Bus branding you shredded documents before you lost power, Woyome u withdrew the case from supreme court. Afriyie Ankkra GYEDAA etc you couldn't take action.
This is what makes me a bit unhappy about this whole video on the GFA! There is no doubt that the people running our football are corupt beyond description, as evidence by the video made by Anas. However I believe Anas was commissioned to do this investigations with the aim of getting Kwesi Nyantakyi and his cohorts out of the football seen. An action I support wholeheartedly. But are they the only corrupt people in Ghana? Didn't we hear from Anas that he had done investigations on Parliament and the Executive during President Mahama's time? Where are those videos? When is Anas showing it? Because of Anas' selectivity, today people who presided over the most corrupt Government ever known in Ghana's history are talking about GFA's video. Parliamentarians who sttole from us by taking double salaries, but went to beg the President, are also talking. We should be careful that Anas doesn't become a tool that others will use to destroy their opponents and enimies. Anas should be seen to be fighting coruption no matter the colour, creed, status etc. and from whichever quarters.
Why didn't you prosecuted Afriyie and Adu Asare?? Why didn't you prosecuted the other persons indicted in the GEEDA probe??? Why didn't you prosecuted Woyome?? Please dont get us angry wae
Funny country. A nation of disillusioned people.
IT STARTS SOMEWHERE, IT WILL START NOW, AKUFO ADDO AND BAWUMIA MUST BE INVESTIGATED NOW FOR THE CORRUPT DEALS... THEY HAVE EDITED THE ANA VIDEO SO IT WILL NOT CAPTURE THEM...THEY MUST RESIGN NOW!
LOOK WHO IS TALKING ABOUT GROUNDS FOR PROSECUTION.WHAT DID YOU DO TO AFRIYIE ANKRAH AND ADU ASARE? FOOOLIIISH TALK.
