Public Relations Officer (PRO) for the Presbyterian Church of Ghana Reverend George Larbi says the 60-year-old man, who bonked himself to death, was not an elder of the Church.
The late William Osae-Ansah of Ascension Congregation of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana in Koforidua in the Eastern Region was reported to have booked a hotel at Nkrukan two weeks ago.
He allegedly decided to sneak in with a 40-year-old woman, who is said to be a member of his church in order for both to satisfy their lustful pleasures.
Unfortunately, he met his untimely death.
Speaking to Bright Akwesi Asempa on Onua FM’s morning show, Yen Nsempa, Reverend Larbi pointed out that the late William Osae-Ansah was a full-time treasurer of the church and not a Presbyter.
“The crux of the matter is that, the man was not a presbyter in the church, I want to put it on record.
“He was a full time treasurer who was bound for retirement by the end of June.”
Reverend Larbi further added that the late treasurer occupied this position for the local congregation and at the district level.
He also revealed that upon hearing the news, he contacted the Koforidua-based resident pastor, who explained that the late William Osae-Ansah was supposed to go to the church’s office in the morning but he called the office to seek permission in order to go for his medication at the hospital.
He also sought permission to go to the bank to make some withdrawal for the church hence they were looking forward to his return after those errands until they heard news of his death.
The deceased’s car used that morning was, however, found at the Ghana Commercial Bank.

Rev PRO WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE, members and officers of the Church must abide by the teachings of Christ. Sadly he went wayward and that is sad. The Church does not need to do any differentiation - member, presbyter or minister all need to live by christian teachings.
Reverend PRO please what are you trying to say, we know he is trying to protect the image of the church but we knows the both deceased and the lady in question are full members of the Presbyterian church, Ascension Congregation. though the act was disgraceful but there is no need dodging the fact.what happen can be attributed individually to him and the church can distance itself from it because he didn't die during official duty
atongo b3se3 madi aaa madi. still a prebytarian
what makes the difference? whether presbyter or not, he was supposed to abide by the moral ethics of the church.
