Controversial former AIDS Ambassador Joyce Dzidzor Mensah says she will do whatever it takes in her own capacity to solicit for funds to help build Ghana’s National Cathedral.
She said her “bold” move to beg for money onboard a train in Germany shows how patriotic she is to see the house of God established.
“People don’t understand me. Only deep thinkers will understand what I do,” she said.
A video making the rounds on social media suggests that Ms Dzidzor Mensah, while onboard a train sought to solicit for funds from the passengers.
Speaking sarcastically to those aboard the train, Joyce Dzidzor explained that the country was in dire need of funds to put up a cathedral in order for God to come and live in and to help solve the country’s numerous problems.
“We are building a church for Jesus Christ to come and live in Ghana because we have too much problems. We do not have enough schools for the children, we do not have enough drinking water, we do not have ambulances so when people fall sick they die,” she explained.
Carrying a yellow bowl, Joyce Dzidzor moved from one passenger to the other urging them to make a donation starting from 100 euros before eventually dropping to 50 euros.
President Akufo-Addo recently met with the Christian community in the diaspora to admonish them to support the construction of the National Cathedral financially.
It is unclear if the former AIDS Ambassador’s action is a mockery of the first gentleman’s move or just a stunt highlights her displeasure at the government's decision to build the cathedral.
But in an interview with NEAT FM’s morning show ‘Ghana Montie’, Joyce Dzidsor said “I was not making fun of the President and I will never do that”.
“I will continue to beg and will send the money to the Cathedral committee or government as my help to see the Cathedral established. This is what I want to achieve and I will do it,” she told host Kwesi Aboagye.

This girl who happens to be a ***barred word*** is seriously sick. She girl is Mentally unsound.
***barred word*** joyce if you dont stop that ***barred word*** by begging in public places just to disgrace ghanaians then some of us will attack you to stop that because we are all ghanaians and need our respect anywhere we find ourselves so we will not tolerate your foolishness.

She is saying to our dumb leadership that we dont need a cathedral. The money should be used for schools water and improve quality of life for the poor man.
VERY SHAMEFUUL & DISGRACEFUUL ACT. WHO APPOINTED HER TO DO THAT? I FEAR FOR THE SPIRITUAL CONSEQUENCES OF HER MOCKING GHANA AND THE PRESIDENCY.
If she's doing so with genuine intentions she knows, and if she's doing so with ill intentions then God is the only perfect Judge here. I rest my case...!
She is sending a strong message across. Only the wise can decipher.
