Thousands of Ghanaians have backed calls to ban plastic waste in the country.
The canker of plastic waste has become a tough nut to crack as it keeps increasing in the country.
Kenya, Tanzania and other African countries have led the way in banning plastics in their country and many were hopeful that very soon it will get to the turn of Ghana.
However, this hope seems to have been dashed as the Minister of Sanitation, Cecilia Abena Dapaah says it cannot happen.
Having a one-on-one interaction with Kwami Sefa Kayi on Peace FM's morning show 'Kokrokoo', Thursday, the Minister said "plastics cannot be banned thoroughly."

You waste your time to elect people who are not bold enough to take decisions in the interest of the country. How different is Ghana from Tanzania and Kenya. I was in a shop in Kenya with a plastic shopping bag and was informed that if any police finds me with this, I will be arrested. The joy on Ghanaian politicians is only to be elected or appointed to a position. They have no intent to do anything better for the country. You vote for a party (NDC/NPP) and they only appoint incompetent people.
As usual, always refusing to take the bull by the horn. We need people who can show leadership, lead the way and get the job done. Do we throw our hands in despair as we are swallowed by filth? We wait for a major disaster to happen for us to do some thing,at best cosmetic. What a shame, failed country!
