The Council of State has demanded of the media to adhere to professional standards in a reaction to a pro-NDC newspaper’s publication which stated that the Council “is angry over the collapse of state-owned banks.”
The said publication posted the picture of the Chairman of the Council and two other members to illustrate the story which has turned out not to be true.
‘The Council wishes to state that as a body it takes collective decisions. Since the Council’s public positions are held to be credible and respected, it is important that publications attributed to it are verified to ensure that they are accurate’ the statement pointed out.
The statement which was signed by Peace A.P. Okantey (Mrs), Ag Secretary to the Council, entreated to the said NDC paper to confer with the Public Affairs Unit of the Council on publications attributed to it.

Fendal, it's wrong to attribute the statement from the Council of State to mean that they're happy with the collapse of the indigenous banks. Please read the news item from Ken Thompson, the CEO of Dalex Finance, and you'd notice that it's the Ghanaian greedy business people (and politicians) who caused the downfall of these companies..with some holding board meetings in Dubai..can you imagine that? Some overpaid themselves and just didn't care about their customers. Unfortunately, the local banks didn't follow good corporate practices/governance. That's the problem with us, so to say..NO ACCOUNTABILITY. Once again, it's very interesting to hear from people who knew about the mess in the banking sector saying that what we're going through right now should have happened some 3/4years ago. Can you imagine that? Don't get me wrong, I have several thousands of cedis also locked up with a couple of the collapsed institutions and I'm not happy at all.
So the Council of state members aren't in/tell/igent at all. The members are saying they are very happy Ghanaian owned indigenous banks were collapsed and the people are suffering, jobs are lost, and the masses lost their deposits. Serious.
some characters in NDC are bent of maintaining NDC in opposition especially their print media and social commentators. Lies , don't win election in today\s Ghana. NDc are becoming unattractive to many because of their lies and inconsistencies posture.
