The Ghana Police Service has indicated that the DNA test carried out on the human parts found on a property previously occupied by the suspected kidnapper have been confirmed to be that of the four girls who went missing in Takoradi.
The Acting Inspector-General of Police (IGP), James Oppong-Boanuh at a press conference Monday evening said the girls were victims of a serial kidnapping and murdering syndicate.
According to him, they have already communicated the findings to the families and have further expressed their condolences.
"A few minutes ago, officers of the Ghana Police service informed 4 families in Takoradi in the Western Region of Ghana that DNA test conducted on some human remains discovered into the course of police investigations into the disappearance 4 missing girls have turned positive, as the remains of the girls. The Ghana Police service has with regret informed the families that the remains of Ruth Abakah, Priscilla Kuranchie, Ruth Love Quayson, Priscilla Blessing Bentum” he stated.
“Investigations now establish that the girls were victims of a serial kidnapping and murdering syndicate that operated in the Takoradi area. While for various reasons we were unsuccessful in obtaining and action on accurate actionable intelligence in good time to enable us rescue the girls, we believe that the arrest of the culprits has effectively thwarted the ability of this syndicate to have continued with further kidnappings and murders.” the acting IGP further added.

Can we all learn from this .From security agencies ,emigration ,police ,chiefs, land lords and citizens .We are losing our integrity to money and the "I don't care " syndrome is eating into our system.I hope all radio and television station will dedicate a program to talk about these .
Please this report or conclusion fromn the police should be taken with a pinch of salt.... Trust me they just want to close the case because of the national dimension it has taken....Don't be surprise in the near future if these Nigerian walks free and later tells us he bribed his way out
why shouldn't Nana Addo get into this??? Of course he should equally be blamed b'cos he appointed incompetent CID boss to issue idioootic statements. If you claim too much publicity could endanger the the lives of the girls was good in your opinoin for the CID boss to assure Ghanaians she know where the girls??? you are simply and educated iiliitreate!!!! you are now blaming the family for late reporting to the Police??? your Cimpanzeeeee looking president(Nana Addo) never acted after the family. petition him... What has hapened to the police whlo aided the prime suspect to escape from cells??? Nxt time, think b4 you speak!!!!!
I am so angry I don't even know what to write! What exactly did the CID investigate? You arrest a suspect and you did not search the premises? That is the first place you should search! This is Kindergarten stuff: pre-basic stuff! And that disgrace of a CID boss whose jaws are more pronounced than her brains and competence should immediately resign! The whole police service needs serious restructuring: no interference from politicians concerning recruitment! How did an officer aid a suspect accused of a heinous crime like kidnapping escape! And that officer is still at post! Are we serious as a country! Some of these revelations are simply jaw-dropping! Can you imagine the trauma of the parents of these victims? Hmmmmm
Eii !! Ghana police do not be smart and changes things because all this reports are fake, because is it not the same police who said the girls are alive and safe to join their families soon ? hmmmm, Ghana police
Das to lose a loved one in this manner.
how does Nana Addo the president come into this? Wise men now ask for the highest terms be given the offenders and then the public be educated on how to deal with these kinds cases. The media must also be cautioned in the manner they handle these issues. For it it common knowlegde that too much publicityabout kidnapping often lead to death of victims.
We can be political, that is out view but most culprits were the meida houses who made noise about the kidnapping, Kidnapping does not like noises. Any noise made can lead the victim being killed. The family too who delayed in informing the police. For the canadians as soon as they were picked report came out that is why they were able to rescue them. Now the police should study the issues and those found culperable be it the media house or the family be brought to book.
RIP to the girls and condolences to their families. Nana should seriously consider giving this job to the current IGP, he is the best we have had in a long time. Appietu was a big mistake. Also, I don't think Tiwah should keep her post. That press conference she did might have actually pushed these kidnappers to get rid of the girls in their custody at the time. It was ill-advised and she doesn't deserve to keep her position.I speak as a Ghanaian.
If akuffo addo is really serious, this time he should act as the president and sack someone instead of always being a clearing agent.
