Techiman has experienced five fire outbreaks within the past two weeks and the fires destroyed 29 bedrooms and rendered more than 100 people homeless.
The houses are located at Dwomor, Hansua, Wangara-line, New-Aboadikro and Blue Cross.
Mr. Labib Jibreel Kesse, Techiman Municipal NADMO Co-ordinator, said this after inspecting an eight-bedroom house gutted by fire at Wangara-line that led to the displacement of 30 people.
The cause of the domestic fires is not yet known, Mr. Kesse said but appealed to house owners to engage qualified electricians to wire their buildings.
He suggested to the Volta River Authority and the Electricity Company of Ghana to swet up a team that would periodically check electrical wirings and fittings in houses to help curb domestic fires.
Mr. Kesse called for a law that would compel house owners to rewire their houses periodically to check fires caused by electrical faults.
