He called on stakeholders not to politicize the exercise but make it participatory to avoid resistance from the people who would benefit from the project.

The Deputy Minister stated that the project had potentials of responding to emergency needs of citizens and said apart from helping in directional purposes, the numbering of property in an orderly manner, and street names would enhance the socio economic development of the country.

Mr Jamal added that MMDCEs and DCEs owed it as a responsibility to use their tenure of office to improve the lives of the people and therefore should not politicize the exercise to ensure that it was smoothly implemented.

Ahaji Mohammed-Muniru called on MMDCES, DCEs and all stakeholders in the programme to work hard to ensure success.

He expressed the hope that MMDCE and DCEs would be appraised on performance to ensure that government resources were put to right use and said the project was already behind schedule and therefore it was important they supported it to make it succeed.
