The Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU) is urging patrons of commercial buses not to pay any increased fares.
Some commercial bus drivers have increased fares following recent increases in fuel prices.
But according to the GPRTU, after meetings with the Transport Ministry, its members agreed not to increase transport fares.
The Unions Chairman, Alhaji Manu, is therefore asking passengers not to pay more for their transport fares.
If you go to the station and someone wants to charge you with new fares why should you pay? Dont pay! If anything at all, report to the authorities there, he urged.
He gave the assurance that his men are on the ground monitoring the situation and drivers who do not comply will be sanctioned appropriately.
