Former Deputy Minister of Transport Joyce Bawa-Mogtari has asked Ghanaians who travel in and out of the country using the Kotoka International Airport to credit former president John Dramani Mahama with the massive transformation the airport has seen.
According to her, the transformation, which includes a modern baggage carousel, is a legacy of Mr Mahama, although he lost the 2016 elections.
The National Democratic Congress (NDC), led by Mr Mahama, lost last year’s presidential and parliamentary elections to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
The defeat of the NDC came as a surprise to several members of the party due owing to what they termed massive infrastructural development in all sectors across the country carried out by the Mahama administration.
To that end, Mrs Mogatri Bawa tweeted on Sunday January 15: “When you arrive at the Kotoka International Airport and see all the improvements, remember #MahamaLegacy.”

Madam we will remember him because he used his own money to do it. Thanks.
we will also remember him when paying those huge taxes at the point of entry.
Eeei Madam so people like you have still not recovered from the shock Ghanaians inflicted you!!!
The leaky ceiling? The dumsor which even affects the runway?!? Or the fact that there's no wifi at the airport? Or better yet, the immigration officials who still collect bribe? Which one?
What about the person who built the airport? We'll remember mahama's legacy as the 1st and possibly only 1 term president in the 4th republic, future generations will ask why he became a 1 term president and we'll tell them about his corrupt government.
Thanks Madame we will also remember him when we also when we hear corruption. Thanks
The only legacy there is Mahama spent millions of dollars on nothing at the airport. There is virtually nothing updated at the airport. Of course we will remember the very bad and rotten legacies left at our airports. The akaloo painting at the airport.
The legacy of a president is a carousel and some airport improvements and we should remember him for that? Are you serious?
So Mahama now built the airport? Why are you people still cocooned in the "Greenbook" mode?
