The Ministry of Health has ordered health training institutions across the country to cease the sale of admission forms to people wishing to pursuing nursing and its related courses.
No reasons have been given for the immediate suspension of the sale of the admissions forms for the 2017/2018 academic year. A memo dated January 18, 2017 and signed by Chief Director of the Health Ministry, Dr. Afisah Zakariah, suggested the directive, which was given earlier, is being flouted by the training schools.
“The attention of the Ministry has been drawn to the continuous sale of application forms for admission into various Health Training Institutions for 2017/2018 academic year. “This is in spite of a directive from the Ministry for the suspension of the sale of forms until further notice,” the memo, which was copied to the government Transition Team on Health read in part.
It has thus asked all principals and heads of the various sales outlets across the country to suspend the sale of the forms forthwith until the Ministry authorises same to proceed. “Principals would be held personally responsible for breach of this directive,” the memo stated.

It is only an "Indomie" who will not plan before using his resources. A wise king takes stock of his strength and weaknesses before going to war. I say only an "Indomie" will open wild his gates only to realise that his house can only take a few. GREAT LEADERS plan their development.
those foo..lin tell me one reason why the sale of the forms shouldn't be suspended? we have over OPEPEPEEPEEE graduated nurses at home waiting to be posted, what will it profit us if we sell the forms; go to school and at the end be in the house. you should reason up to know that the private hospital will not recruit them cos they wont stay for long unlike those who offering other courses at the university and polytechnics at least this is home sense that you need not to get your PHD before you can analyse something. it is time we stop this political criticism and think like a Rational Human Beings....... don't mind them @ Yeast
Nana adobea Wo tw3 baggy Wai...abooaaa ba !! Change has come...whether u like it or not.
ISN'T TRAINING AND BECOMING AN UNEMPLOYED NURSE,BETTER THAN NO TRAINING AT ALL? AFTER ALL GHANAIAN NURSES ARE HOT CAKES ABROAD,AT LEAST. WITHOUT TRAINING,HOW COULD ONE UTILISE THAT OPPORTUNITY WHEN IT COMES? TWEEEEA,419 CHANGE!
Pull him down syndrome of Ghanaians....thats why I hate you people.....have you checked for the facts? Ndc block headed mammals...they just nana and Ghana to fail...
Ghana Health Service, pls just assigned reasons to arrest unwarranted speculations. Reputation and Integrity of the new government is at risk!!!!!
This could be a strategy to reduce the supply of nurses in the system. There are too many of them now.
Allowance can't be paid to bunch of trainees hence the suspension of the sale of forms.Dreams of future nurses are dashed. What will it profit a nurse to take allowance and be unemployed after school.I now see the NDC Government as the competent and sensible Government.Nana Addo should swallow his pride and go the NDC way, scribes nurses allowance and build more hospitals and clinic to enable nurses to get posted after graduation.
OH MY GOD. HAS IT COME TO THAT? EVEN FORMS ARE NOT TO BE SOLD. VERY SOON THE NURSES WILL HEAR SOUNDS. DID WE GO OR COME. THIS IS REALY WARNING SHOT.
Most Ghanaians are talented foo..ools.....@naa and nana you are sick in the head. Do u know the number of nurses at home who have not be posted??? Why sell new forms to people?
