The South African church that invited rev. Dag Heward-Mills to preach has distanced itself from the sermon shared by Dag Heward-Mills on his visit to the Church after it incensed a lot of people.
Dag Heward-Mills was invited by the Grace Bible Church as a guest pastor to their 9am service.
Bishop Heward-Mills in his sermon at the Soweto-based Church described Homosexuals as “unnatural” and “unbiblical”.
“…You don’t find two male dogs, two male cats, or two male lions…even lizards, two male elephants, there is nothing like that in nature, it is unnatural, yes, there is nothing like that.”
His sermon angered a popular South African choreographer and radio personality Somizi Mhlongo who is also a known homosexual. He stormed out of the service and later posted a video on Instagram saying he wasn’t going to sit there and be offended.
In a sharp contradiction, the Grace Bible Church have emphatically made it known that they do not share the views of Bishop Heward-Mills on his homosexual stance.
In an interview with a South African media organisation, the spokesperson of the Grace Bible Church, Rev. Ezekiel Mathole, indicated that the Church is open to all manner of people with different views and opinions and different ways of life and will never discriminate against people with a variant way of life.
“The only thing we want to say as a Church is that we don’t discriminate against gay people and we will never do and have never done that. What was prevalent yesterday was that there was a contrary view that is out there. If you look in the Church it’s an open secret there are people who are pro-gay and there are people who are anti-gay”.
“We as a Church have stated that we welcome all homosexuals into the church and we don’t discriminate against people.”
The Church was also quick to add that this may not be the end of the relationship between the Grace Bible Church and Bishop Heward-Mills, despite the controversy he has generated as he will be called upon when the need be.
The remarks have outraged lots of people and have begun a homosexual rights debate in South Africa. Dag Heward-Mills is the founder and Presiding Bishop of the Lighthouse Chapel International.

The Bishop is not discriminating against anyone, what he is doing is "PREACHING" the word of God and that is what is suppose to be done in churches. If you read your bibles very well you will know that there is a warning against all those practice it. Walking OUT of the church because a sermon does not favour you is very hypocritical and really who cares if you decide to do so. As you rightly said it is between you and your God, no one is judging you. Others may have sat down for various reason and that is also between them and their God. I just want you to understand that the Bishop was only doing his job and that is "PREACHING".
But how can a whole doctor lack basic knowledge of science? H0mose.xual acts do take place in nature among all creatures simple Google would have informed him better. I guess he will say those animals are also sinning lol. And what about her.maphrodites? Is this fake pastor going to say they were not created by God also? Should they marry men or women? Learn to respect diversity & stop judging. Black white tall short GA.y straight all were made by God
Pastor thou shall not Judge, Respect other people view of Life, you are not God to Judge
Bishop,we are proud of you,I know that you will stand for God no matter what happened
great one Bishop Dag! Not even animals!
Thank you Bishop Dag Heward-Mills for saying the truth as it is. We love you here in Ghana. The word of God will not be diluted just so that we can accommodate certain people who think the church is just there for fun or just happy socializing. We speak the truth as it is in the church. if you can stand it then just dont come. it's high time pastors stand up boldly for the word of God and stop been afraid of what the world will do or say.
He didn't discriminate. He spoke against it. The fact that he spoke against such an abominable act doesn't mean he is discriminating. All manner of persons are accepted in the house of God because Jesus Christ came not because of the Saints but sinners. So if this id10t will repent and changes his ways, God will forgive and restore him.
Great Bishop you always speak the truth no matter the situation may you continue to be a great light shinning in the midst of darkness. We love you so much keep shinning darkness can never overcome light
Sh Sh sha-me in Dag Heward Mills for discriminating against people who are just like you. God made us all including G. A. Y people whether you like it or not. Judge not. You will be surprised to find many of such people entering heaven before money hungry pastors like you enter
Well done Bishop. Continue speaking truth to the nations. You don't hate the sinner but you hate the Sin. Speak to our leaders about corruption cos they are setting a bad example for the youth
