Some residents of Akosombo in the Eastern Region on Tuesday took to the streets to demonstrate over what they describe as killer electricity tariffs.
According to the demonstrators the high tariffs started after the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) changed their meters.
"I was away for about a month and when the bill came it was around GHC500. How can this be when everything was off in my room? This is unfair...we have been complaining about this issue for a very long time" one demonstrators said.
They hope their Member of Parliament, Thomas Ampem Nyarko will respond quickly to issues raised since according to them he is already aware.

you people had at least 4 years to show your frustration about this high electricity tariffs when NDC was in power but didn't but waited to do so at a government just 5 months into government. We know better. Your evil intentions won't derail our support for NPP. President Nana Addo is a winner God bless ONLY the good people of Ghana
