Senior research fellow, Centre for Social Policy Studies, University of Ghana, Dr. George Domfe, has supported the verdict of the Electoral Commission [EC] to gather a new voter’s register.
He argued that persons and political parties against the new voters register should as well know that the total population when taken into context by any expert of electoral processes shows that the current voters register is not fit for the up-coming elections.
“ . . In my selfish interest and the field in which I find myself, I will say our current voters register needs to be changed because the number of voters being mentioned with respect to the voters register does not correspond with the total population in the country,” he said.
Speaking on UTV’s ‘Adekye Nsroma’ newspaper discussion segment, the Senior researcher explained “the number of registered voters in the register is unreasonable and must be looked at because no country is expected to have more than half of its population on its voting register when age zero [0] to fifteen [15] which is said to form half of the total population and age 16 and 17 are not qualified voters. Where from the more than half of our total population on our voters register deemed registered voters?”.
“I will say our current voters register is over boated because no country is supposed to have more than the number of its total population on the voters register as is recorded today,” he further stated.

All those insulting are those who can't debate because they don't understand the topic for discussion and can't contribute so resort to insult. Yes, the contributor may ***barred word***, may not qualify for his credentials, may be hungry...but didn't insult those opposing the new register, rather articulated his what he thinks and knows the is the fact according to research and statistics. Let them insult him but one thing is clear...the time for the debate is not waiting for them and at the those who make sound argument wins and not those who insult. ADVICE
People like this are the cause of wars in countries. How can a register that elected our president become ***barred word*** all of a sudden. The forget that the current government sacking and replacing the Electoral Commissioners have already heightened the tensions and now this new commissioners want to change the register to have full control. You this tribal bigot should know that all the properties in the country are in one direction and if there is problem people like you this guy will suffer. They should wait after the census
This is the expert?????!! Hahahahaha! Oh Ghana!!!
Why don’t you counter his argument instead of insults, that’s his opinion and you are also free to make one and not insult I think that’s unfair.
You should start tuning your mind to a new voters' register.
VERY SILLY AND HUNGERY MAN STUUUP ***barred word***
