Mr. Ade Coker, the current Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) is running for cover and begging party faithfuls from one constituency to the other following a declaration by Mr. Henry Manly-Spain to contest him for the Chairmanship position.

In an exclusive interview with The New Crusading Guide, Mr. Manly-Spain said he has decided to contest for the chairmanship position of the party mainly to solve the myriad of problems confronting the NDC in the Greater Accra region as a result of poor leadership of Ade Coker.

Mr. Coker is being accused by the rank and file of the party in Greater Accra for the confusions that characterized the parliamentary primaries during 2012 elections as a result of his alleged autocratic style of leadership.

Interestingly, Mr. Coker is hot because many NDC party activist, foot soldiers, sympathizers and constituency executives have vowed to show him the red card and thus; sees Mr. Manly-Spain has a team-player who respect divergent views, and very humble.

Mr. Manly-Spain told the paper that said he is coming for the position because Mr. Ade Coker had failed the foot soldiers of the party who worked tirelessly to bring the party to power.

Mr. Manly-Spain further accused the current chairman, Mr. Coker for not been a term-player and supportive for the party’s parliamentary aspirants during the electioneering campaign.

“We couldn’t have won the election in Greater Accra if I and my comrade friends had not have worked assiduously assisting some of our aspirant and mobilizing the grass root supporters towards the election’ he arrived.

“For me I will say that Ade Coker had not performed the task offered him. Everybody can attest to his poor performance. He has dumped the spirit of many NDC supporters who sacrificed for the party” he said.

He strongly advocated for the expansion of the party’s Electoral College which he observed will enable the delegates to cote for a dedicated persons without the temptation of delegates being cajoled with money.

Attempt to reach Ade Coker as at the time of filing this story to react to the allegation proved futile. Stay tuned.
