Former NPP National Youth Organiser's dream of representing the people of Lawra in the Upper West Region has come to light after years of trials.
Anthony Abayifaa Karbo affectionately called “Afghanistan” in political circles, won the Lawra Constituency primaries of the opposition NPP.
He polled 335 votes to beat his challenger Joseph Dontah who garnered 63 votes.
This is Karbo’s second attempt to be in parliament after an earlier unsuccessful one in 2012.
Speaking to Peace FM, Karbo thanked delegates for their overwhelming support and promised them of a victory in the 2016 elections – “We’ll surely work hard together and win in 2016.”
