James Kwabena Bomfeh has applauded the decision by the Greater Accra Regional branch of the ruling National Democratic Congress for suspending the La Dadekotopon and Ningo-Prampram Parliamentary candidates.
Nii Amasah Namoale and Sam George were suspended on grounds of misconduct and contravention of the constitutional provisions of the party.
According to the Regional executive body, the duo failed to honour the lawful procedures which were in place prior to the party's primaries on Saturday November 21, 2015.
Speaking on 'Kokrokoo' on Peace FM, James Kwabena Bomfeh commended the leadership of the NDC for taking steps to sanction the two Parliamentary candidates for flouting the party's orders.
According to him, the suspension was a "bold decision" and a signal to party members and the nation at large to uphold the laws of the country.
James Kwabena Bomfeh noted that it is about time the laws of the country were put to test and so, was gleeful that the NDC has set the pace by applying their own rules.
“It’s a bold decision but we have to commend them for seeking to apply their own rules…We work with laws. It’s not enough to have the laws. We need to allow the laws to work.”
