The controversial new logo for the Electoral Commission has been unveiled in Sunyani where the commission is holding a capacity building workshop for media personnel, contrary to claims by Mr. Amadu Sulley, Deputy Chairman of the Electoral Commission (EC) in-charge of Operations, that the Commission had not reached a conclusive decision on whether or not to change its logo.
He is reported to have said at the commission's workshop in Tamale, last Saturday what appeared in place of its original logo during the EC’s public engagements last week was an intention.
Though others have criticized the logo as been of poor quality and does not communicate the functions of the commission, it has been used in a day's workshop in Sunyani Sponsored by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), dubbed, “Capacity building for media practitioners in election reportage and highlights of C.I 91".
Mr Aggrey Fynn who chaired the workshop in Sunyani said the documents that are being used at the workshop are properties of the EC .
Answering a question posed to the board by TV3's Larry Moses concerning the new logo,Mr Aggrey Fynn disclosed that:"this is a new logo that is yet to be formally launched to depict a new EC...that is what we want to use."
