The General Secretary of the General Agricultural Workers Union (GAWU), Edward Karaweh has described Nana Akufo-Addo’s ‘one dam one village’ policy as a sign of underdevelopment. In addition, he said the policy is likely to create chaos.
Mr. Karaweh was speaking on 3FM’s Sunrise Morning Show which was dedicated to labour on Thursday.
The show transmitted live from the TUC Conference Hall in Accra brought together executives of some labour unions across the country to deliberate on their challenges.
Speaking about agricultural development, Mr. Karaweh insisted that the one dam one village policy is not the way to go. “It’s a sign of underdevelopment. I do not see that as the way to go with agriculture development in this country. If you promise every man, one motor bike, there will be chaos.
If you promise every man, one car, it will create chaos. There will be chaos in agriculture,” he explained.
“You see, what type of agriculture are you talking about? Are you saying everybody must be in agriculture? No, you are simply saying that if you are born in a particular village, because you have put the one dam there, you remain there and it will not be long, you will realize that that is not the aspirations of people”, he added.
“Of course people must have access to agriculture; the solution is not one village one dam. The solution is making water available”. He cited the irrigation dam in the Tolon/Kumbungu district in the northern region which is serving several communities as an example of how it must be done.

and this thing is supposed to be leader.a headless idiooot.
Why do you give audience to people who think of ndc more than their suffering? GAWU can skip it if it will bring them chaos and those who think it will serve their interest must embrace it. That's all.Why do you have time for idi*ts? We are moving forward and leaving the idi*ts to be in their primitive tribe of the Papua New Guinea type. John Mahama us gone and nothing will save him, they can spin, turn and twist nothing will work good.
A FUNNY COUNTRY WHERE PEOPLE BELIEVE THAT THE MORE BITING YOUR INSULT, THE MORE PRACTICAL YOUR POINT. IN THE END, WE SHOUT AT EACH OTHER BUT DO NOT COMMUNICATE.
THIS KEREWAH ALWAYS TALKS WITHOUT UNDERSTANDING THE ISSUES. BUT AM I SURPRISED, NO BECAUSE HE IS A KNOWN NDC ACTIVIST.
Let me school you mr Kerewah. You admit there is a dam somewhere which serves a number of communities. I believe communities are made of villages right. Which means if you are within that village that forms the community there is a dam serving that village right? So each village in that community by reference has a dam. Lets do a little bit of logical thinking and stop being childish and hypocritical.
I.d.i.o.t talk.
