Peacefmonline.com is reliably informed that Fadi Dabbousi, a fierce critic of the Mahama-led NDC administration who was "arrested" by the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI), has been released.
Fadi, a Ghanaian-Lebanese pilot, author of “59 Years Of Ghana To Nowhere; The Future Is Now”, and a strong supporter of Nana Akufo-Addo, was picked up by the BNI when he landed in Ghana from Lebanon on Friday, 23 September aboard an Egypt Air flight.
BNI officials arrested him upon touching down at the Kotoka International Airport for alleged offensive conduct against President John Mahama.
Fadi's book, according to sources, pushes for a change in leadership in Ghana.
His lawyer, Hassan Tampouli, had earlier threatened to sue the state security agency for abuse of his client's rights.
Earlier yesterday (Sunday), the BNI reportedly returned books they seized the detained journalist's residence.
Hassan Tampouli told newsmen that on Sunday at about 5:45 am, operatives of the BNI returned to the residence of Mr Fadi without a search warrant but they were given access to the property.
"All they did this morning was to return all the copies of the book they took away although they still have in their possession the diary, pen drives and other valuables that they took away," he said.
Meanwhile, both an ardent New Patriotic Party activist, Evron R. Hughes, an advocate of a well received campaign on social media with the hashtag #FreeFadNow, and another pro-opposition pressure group, Ghana Must Know Forum, have confirmed the release of the author who allegedly 'insulted' President Mahama.

FADI DABBOUSI RELEASED!!
We have taken notice of the release of Mr. Fadi Dabbousi from BNI cells a short while ago, earlier than the midnight ultimatum we gave to the Bureau of National Investigation.
Whilst it is good to hear, it does not exenorate the BNI from such avoidable abuse of power and breach of fundamental human rights of people.
The BNI has a lot to learn, that is if they have not deliberately refused to acquaint themselves with proper legal procedures, rule of law and dignity for the rights of people.
We thank all and sundry for the readiness you showed to mass up at the headquarters of the BNI should they have not released him.
God bless you all.
Signed.

Well; Well; Well ; here we go again ; !!!!!!! ; do not these BNI operatives not realise that they are been used as political pawns in this toxic election saga by the Jon Mahama and the NDC ; are they not aware that their position as BNI operatives does not represent a personal property and that one day they will be 'kicked out'; they should ask former BNI operatives who were in this un thankful business ;for me these aimless BNI operatives are been used as an arm of the NDC government and that they should distinguish political motivated issues and proper intelligence work because there are so many serious network of kriminal activities going on including massive drug dealings going on through Kotoka are they not aware that still Jon Mahama's brother with certain people are still involved in drug trafficking through Kotoka ; money laundering through the banks ; forgeries ;serious galamasey illegal activities and deafforestation with illegal exportation of timber which needs to be tackled ; illegal export of gold bars through Kotaka; with the Indian business men and some Arabs still involved in these illegal activities which they need to tackle not these petty easy political target initiatives ; MR BNI Director WAKE UP !!!!!!!!
