The National Democratic Congress in the Volta region has described the manifesto of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), which was recently launched in Accra as "empty".
The manifesto christened, 'Change, an agenda for jobs. Creating prosperity and equal opportunity for all,' according to the NDC, was nothing but a hollow set of rhetorics, which has no glimpse of hope for the people of the Volta region and Ghanaians in general.
Mr. John Kwadwo Gyapong, Volta regional chairman of the NDC told a press conference in Ho on Tuesday that, there was nothing of great importance in the NPP manifesto, which gives the people of the Volta region any hope to merit their votes in the December elections.
"In as much as we cannot say that the entire Volta region has been fully developed under the Better Ghana agenda of the NDC, we have seen nothing of great significance in the NPP's manifesto that gives great hope to the sons and daughters of this great region of ours," Mr. Gyapong stated.
He also discredited the promise by the NPP to construct a habour at Keta should they win power in 2017, saying "the NDC government has already shown a greater commitment in that direction," hence the construction of sea defense walls in some communities to pave way for the Keta habour project as per the recommendations of a feasibility study.
The NDC regional chief therefore urged Voltarians to continue to have faith in the NDC and President Mahama to deliver more development to the region, noting "we are more than confident that the good works began should not be truncated with the change of the current leadership of the country."
Present at the press conference were some functional executives of the NDC in the region, the regional campaign coordinator, Mr. Kofi Attoh, former transport minister, Dzifa Attivor, as well as some party supporters.
Mr. Kofi Attoh, the 2016 NDC regional campaign coordinator hinted of frequent media interactions to propagate the NDC's message as the campaign gears up towards December 7 polls.

Volta Region has no Districts? What did Nana AkufoAddo say about the districts? If these guys don't know:ONE DISTRICT ONE FACTORY. What did Nana Akufo Addo say about constituencies? If these guys don't know: One Constituency $1 million for development. Shame to these guys. Cheap politics.
1ddi00ts. Stop this unreasonable tribal politics. It wont help you and your generations yet to be born
What have voltarians benefitted from u people(ndc) U use them and dump them after December. There is a lot of hope for the youth in Volta Ghana. Change is coming! In fact change is coming!
BUT WHAT HAS A MANIFESTO THAT CAN NOT PASS FOR A JSS ESSAY COMPETITION DO FOR VOLTARIANS??? GIVING THE FACT THAT VOLTA REGION HAS ONE OF THE MOST BRILLIANT AND FINEST MINISTERS WHO CAN SINGLE HANDEDLY DRAFT A MUCH BETTER AND APPEALING DOCUMENT ENTIRE COUNTRY. TELL ME ONE NPP MEMBER WHO WAS NOT LISTENING TO THE SETTING THE RECORDS STRAIGHT FORUM.
it is nice when we mind the way we talk in public.whether we like it or not the northerner n voltarians r part of gh n not all of them belong to ndc.
And what did the NDC manifesto offer Voltarians?
If those of us from the Volta Region would stop seeing ourselves as regional instead of national citizens, then the document under discussion would have relevance for us! A regional chairman who instead of aspiring for national relevance is seeking to be a regional champion only is likely to lead us into a ditch! Mr Gyapong, please expand your horizon else we would be used and dumped continuously, and by the party you are limiting to the Volta region instead of as a national organisation! Wake up!
Always got something to say about NPP, i think when NDC hear the name NPP they begin to fear and panic. What have u people done for us or do they have to write in their manifesto that they will open cat meat factory for us before u can realise they want to help us. Stop the cheap talks and mind ur own business cos we are voting u guys out
But has NDC given hope to voltarians? Volta region lost its chances by voting stupiidly for NDC only for it to be ignored. Whether volta votes for npp or not is irrelevant. Akan ppl, who produce most of the national wealth have decided to vote for their own party to manage ghana. U northerners & voltarians can go n masturbatte yourselves.
