President John Mahama has asked Ghanaians to consider the promises of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) as “cheap talk”.
According to him, the NPP was only interested in propagating deceit through uninformed criticism of the government’s performance, saying it lacked the capacity to deliver its unrealistic promises.
“Talk is cheap, and it is easier said than done,” he stated, at a mammoth rally at Kade, as part of his campaign tour of the region.
He said the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) was not perturbed about the propaganda of the opposition because Ghanaians were discerning, adding, “they are witnesses to the good performance of the government”.
“We are confident that Ghanaians have seen our good works and would not take in any deceit,” he said.
Touching on some of the propaganda and criticisms by the NPP, President Mahama described the claims that the National Health Insurance Scheme had collapsed as “exposed lies.”
“Available records, show that the scheme is in a very active state, benefiting thousands of Ghanaians.
“If the NHIS has collapsed, why are they the NPP MPs and leaders busily registering people onto the Scheme,” he asked.
From Kade, President Mahama moved to Asamankese where he interacted with a large crowd of NDC supporters, urging them to be vigilant and focus on the campaign.

Mr Mahama, did the NPP tell those chiefs President Kuffuor worked good, better than the ndc? Or you take the hardship you've created for the people of Ghana as NPP made? Then you dumb, take out your dark glasses so you can see the faces of Ghanaians and read to how frustrated they are because of lack of a wise leader,a leader who can't think far,a leader who doesn't sleep good to think big a leader who doesn't care a bit about the suffering of the people, all he car's is about his family and friends and nothing else. NPP are in the opposition and don't control the resources of the nation and every Ghanaian can testify how how resources were used to benefit all Ghanaians. You've borrowed more than any government but nothing to show, any government that talks of infrastructure is an act of mediocrity that was John mahama in opposition so what has changed now,for you to boast of highly inflated cost and inferior infrastructure? Kuffuor's administration with little did extremely well to tackle all aspect of our economy and Ghana so growth in our GDP sending our country from HIPC to lower middle income group to the admiration of Alban Bagbin,Moses Asaga and co. Who said Kuffuor did well now we are back to HIPC with your propaganda, lies and deceptive economy. John Mahama Ghanafuo abr3 wo,time aso oooo time aso.
