The Supreme Court will on Tuesday rule on whether or not Mr Martin Amidu should be granted leave to orally examine Mr Alfred Agbesi Woyome on his assets in relation to the retrieval of the Ghc51million judgement debt money.
At the court’s sitting on Thursday, the Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Mrs Marietta Brew-Appiah Oppon argued that Mr Amidu’s intervention would be unconstitutional.
Mr Amidu has filed an application at the Supreme Court, praying it to allow him to examine businessman Woyome, on his assets as part of efforts to retrieve the Ghcc51 million from him.
But the AG who was represented in court on Wednesday by her deputy, Mr Dominic Ayeni, in opposing the application said Mr Amidu was violating the constitution by coming to court to retrieve the money as it was only the AG’s office that was mandated by law to do so.
The AG also prayed the court to expunge certain parts of Mr Amidu’s affidavit alleging that President John Mahama ordered the AG to discontinue the suit, which also sought to examine Mr Woyome over the payment of the amount.
He claimed the allusions in paragraphs 9 to 21 of Mr Amidu’s affidavit were scandalous statements made against the Attorney General.
The court gave the date to rule after Mr Ayine moved an application praying the court to do so.

Supreme Court is your tax and our Tax please allow Martin for us. You took a decision against MONTIE 3 and The President said he is powerful than you judges. Its time to correct the WRONGS in our society. Remember its our Tax. Make sure our system is not rigged like U.S.A.
The SC judges are mad as hell because of the montie 3 saga and anything that smells like NDC will not get a favorable ruling. Mahamah and NDC are scared Woyome will sing like a parrot if he's forced to pay the Ghc51 million. Crook or hook we will collect our money. Keep it Mr. Amidu we're with you. You will get the judgment to collect this bogus judgment debt for Ghana. God bless you.
AH, AH, AH NDC! YOU WON'T COLLECT THIS LOOT AND SOMEONE SAYS HE WILL COLLECT IT, BUT YOU SAY NO? WHY? MARTIN, PLEASE GO AHEAD! SC PLEASE ALLOW MARTIN TO COLLECT THE MONEY. IT WAS YOU WHO SECURED THE JUDGEMENT. GO MARTIN GO AHEAD, YOU HAVE OUR SUPPORT. CHANGE IS COMING
Only in your dreams. Change is coming. In fact change is here.
Martin Amidu has vindictiveness written over his face. Since he was sacked from the mills administration, he has made his only occupation to make the president and the ruling government unpopular. I have no problem you fighting for the nation but to draw the president in at every opportunity is just devilish. PC Ofori Appiah did it as parliamentarian and a member of the npp, and he did a good without the vindictiveness being exhibited by martin amidu. Your life is going to be a hell because you are going to deal with the president and the NDC for the next 12 years
Strange things are happening in Ghana
THE AG NEEDS TO SIT & GROW UP. THE BOTTOM LINE IS THAT WE NEED OUR MONEY BACK. 7+ GOOD YEARS AND WE ARE STILL TALKING ABOUT WOYOME. WE, OUR CHILDERN, OUR CHILDREN'S CHILDREN ETC WILL NEVER FORGIVE THE CURRENT AG AND ALL OTHERS WHO CAN AND SHOULD HELP GET BACK OUR MONEY - GH 51.M.
I find it strange as 2 de reasons why AG is rather fighting Martin. If martins actions will help retrieve the money quickly why not support him? i just dont understand this whole thing
If you could not make it in life during your apolitical life, you should not fleece Ghana to make yourself rich.
